Creatures cross our paths daily, in waking and dreaming life. I cannot help but stop to wonder why... Why this creature? Why now? What do they want to share with me?

With these questions, I stumble into the creative process and fall into the magical, mystical world of symbolism. I emerge a bit wiser, grateful, and in wonderous awe. The lessons learned live on and continue to speak through the imagery that has appeared. What do they say to you?

Remembering

She is the spider -

the Black Widow we fear –

the one who is equally a powerful destroyer

and a master creator.

She is the heartbeat I breathe.

The drumming is getting louder,

reminding me.

Remembering I seek to answer

the loud demand

of the quiet spider.

She will make what she came here to make,

not for any other reason than the making.

It is her constant and revolutionary act.

Kundalini Dance

Misunderstood fear grips us,

slithering along the underbelly of our lives.

Ignored, its movement appears erratic and catches us off guard.

Studied, accepted, and embraced as a teacher, the rhythms are revealed.

We fall into the dance.

We dip in and out and around and around.

We turn in seasons, evolve in phases.

We rise up in spirals

toward the inner glowing light of truth

and the deepest knowing that only comes

from the darkest hidden places.

Of the Sun and Moon

He comes at night
to bring the sun.

Brilliantly dancing
on the laughing belly
of life.

Illuminating all her cycles,
each important
and fleeting,
transpiring energetic secrets.

Soulfully snarling
so we don't
miss them.

Lifting the Veil

Dusk scatters across the sky.

The trees grow taller in the shadows.

The world disappears as I hike the trail into the divide.

She calls out and I walk quickly,

Looking for her intensely until I hear her say,

“Stop looking out there. Look within.”

I stop and adjust my focus.

My inner eye sees her.

She lifts up her wing and lifts the veil off of this world.

I enter the realm of mystery,

glittering with what's possible,

revealing illusions for what they are.

My soul fills. My heart is soothed.

And then she gently pushes me back into this world.

I return believing I can create it all here

under the care of her ever-present guidance I can see within.

Reached out to unlock the front door,

Met with a gaze of a thousand depths.

It stared intently, unflinchingly, at the giant before it,

Facing fear, holding ground,

Arms folded at heart-center.

"Chaos is a friend unless you never pause."

Changes are happening
whether you stop to ponder them or not.
What do you want from them?
What do you want?
Be clear. Be firm.
Swim in the sea of purpose.

The Mantis in your heart,
the Mantis in your head,
allows life to swirl joyfully.
